Sophie is an experienced family lawyer advising British expatriates across multiple jurisdictions. With a strong track record in high-stakes international cases, she provides strategic guidance on complex family law matters, including:

  • Complex private children law matters including wardship proceedings, where there are allegations of domestic violence, alcohol/substance misuse and parental alienation.
  • Contested financial remedy proceedings where one party is not forthcoming with financial disclosure, successfully obtaining urgent maintenance pending suit applications and legal services orders.
  • International contested jurisdictional races where Hemain injunctions and freezing orders have been obtained.
  • Contested financial provision for unmarried families including schedule 1 applications for HNW international families.
  • Pre and post nuptial agreements where the parties wish to protect their home based and international assets before or post marriage.

Sophie joined Expatriate Law in 2014 when she relocated to the United Arab Emirates, where she spent three years advising British expatriates on divorce, financial settlements, and nuptial agreements. She returned to the London team in 2017, continuing to represent clients in cross-border family law matters. Sophie qualified as a solicitor in 2013 at Goodman Ray, where she trained under Peggy Ray, developing a strong foundation in complex children matters.

Sophie frequently collaborates with top legal professionals worldwide to safeguard her clients’ interests.

Currently, she is expanding her expertise in international adoption and surrogacy, reinforcing her commitment to providing comprehensive advice in cross-border family matters.
