Alexandra is a specialist international divorce and family lawyer. She has particular expertise in advising international families in the UK, and British expatriates residing overseas. She has significant experience in advising expatriate families in the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait) and in Kenya.
Alexandra and her father, David Hallam-Peel, co-founded Expatriate Law in 2010 and are based in the firm’s London office.
Alexandra has been accredited by Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association) as a specialist in International Family Law and Advanced Financial Provision and sits on Resolution’s international family law committee. She is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers.
Alexandra is also ranked by Chamber & Partners who have called her ‘impressive’ and ‘well regarded for her expertise’. A local peer describes her a:

Alexandra has solely practised in family law since being admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales in 2004. She specialises in divorces with an international element and financial remedies on divorce. Alexandra also undertakes children matters including child abduction.
Having practised family law in Dubai for 8 years, Alexandra has extensive knowledge of Sharia laws and their impact on family matters for expatriates. She regularly advises English law firms on Dubai laws and their implication. Alexandra has recently written the UAE chapter of ‘Family Law Jurisdictional Comparisons (2nd Edition)’, published by European Lawyer/ Thomson Reuters. She is a contributing author to Resolution’s Guide to International Family Law.
Alexandra has had numerous articles published, with several in the leading publications Family Law Journal, Resolution Review and Middle Eastern Legal Brief. She regularly provides advice and opinions of family law matters on the radio, and lectures at family law conferences.
Alexandra has advised a wide range of expatriate clients, high net worth individuals, professionals, successful entrepreneurs, and individuals from international ruling families.
